Uncommon travel spot nearby Seoul

Sometimes i am feeling tired of Cliche places that everyone go or places that are already famous when traveling. 

If you are a person like me and if you are traveling Korea now, what i am telling would be a great place that you consider to visit. 

What i want to tell you is a 'Namiseom' which is also called 'Nami island'.
As a name of place says it is an island placed in Gapyeong nearby Seoul. 
So i am going to give you some information about Nami island from the way of getting there to some price information for a tickets. 

There are actually may ways of going to Namiseom and it would be a little different based on where we start.
So i just want to talk about only under conditions that we start from Seoul
And it could be a day`s trip so you don`t have to worry about finding where you stay. 

Gyeongchun line of Seoul metropolitan subway

First way of going to Nami island is to use Gyeongchun line of Seoul metro subway.
It is actually the most easiest and economical way though it takes a little time compared to another ways. 

One-way travel time : About 1h 30m
- Cheongyangni to Gapyeong (subway)
- Gapeyong to Nami island Wharf (bus or taxi)
- wharf to Nami island (ferry)

Round-tirp price : 20,600 won(non-taxi) / 32,600 won (with taxi)
- subway : 4,600 won
- bus : free transfer
- Taxi : about 12,000 won
- admission ticket (including ferry) : 16,000 won

Where to depart and get off

You can depart any station which is highlighted in yellow on above Gyeongchun line subway map. They are all in Seoul. 
So please choose any station where closer to you.
But i think most of travelers would start from 'Cheongnyangni' because this is most closest to Seoul or Yongsan station.
And then you have to get off 'Gapyeong station' which is spotlighted in light blue. 

Gapyeong Station to Nami island (Wharf)

There are two ways.
First is that you have to take 'public bus 10-4' which you can benefit from transferring subway to bus for free. but it`s interval is maybe longer than 30minutes so if you miss one just take a taxi. 
Nami island is only 2km away from Gapyoeng station so it takes under 5minutes and costs about 5 us dollars.

Then you can buy or you could purchase the admission ticket in advance through online booking site like Klook or Tripadvisor. 
So prepared with your ticket and take a ferry to Nami island. 

Available transit card

The great thing about taking public subway is that
You can take Gyeong chun line of public subway using your T-money.
Other transfer cards like Cashbee,  Korea tour card, Wowpass are also available.

ITX

Second way to go Nami island is to use ITX which is high-speed train like KTX.

One-way travel time : About 1h 10m
- Yongsan station to Gapyeong (ITX)
- Gapeyong to Nami island Wharf (bus or taxi)
- wharf to Nami island (ferry)

Round-tirp price : 32,600 won(non-taxi) / 41,800 won (with taxi)
- ITX ticket : 13,800 won
- bus : 2,800 won
- Taxi : about 12,000 won
- admission ticket (including ferry) : 16,000 won

Start from Yongsan station

There are many stations that ITX stop by, but i want to recommend you to start your journey from Yongsan station since it is most accessible and friendly station. 
And ITX is not a subway so we need to purchase a ticket. You can buy it on Korail Talk APP or you can also buy it in Yongsan station in person. 

Gapyeong Station to Nami island (Wharf)

From Gapyeong Station, it is same with first use-subway way. 
take bus or taxi to Nami island wharf. 

Shuttle bus

The other way of getting to Nami island is to use Shuttle bus. 
It is the most expensive option but also it is most comfortable and easiest way of getting to Nami island.

- DDP to Nami island Wharf (shuttle bus)
- wharf to Nami island (ferry)

Round-tirp price : 47,600 won
- Shuttle bus : 31,600 won
- admission ticket (including ferry) : 16,000 won
