Vietnamese Snacks to bring home
I can tell you all i am a kind of person that don`t like and eat snacks usually.
But whenever i go to Vietnam, I come to find myself purchasing and snacking a lot.
I think Vietnamese snacks are attractive enough to make a person who don`t really eat snacks find chips and pies.
So based on my personal taste and experience, i would like share some killing Vietnamese snacks.
Baked coconut craker
The first one i want to introduce is Baked coconut craker.
I come to know this cracker thorugh my girl friend`s recommendation and it is also first snack that i have when i went to Vietnam.
It`s really good.
Overall, the texture is a little hard so it has some fun to bite.
The taste of Baked coconut craker is of course sweet and savory because it is based on coconut flavor.
And this snack pairs with almost every drink. It goes well with beers. It pairs well with coffee.
Moreover, It is really cheap and reasonable. it is only about 1 dollars for a packaged snack. (It is individually wrapped in 12 pack)
So why don`t you give it a try. It is only 1 dollar. there is nothing to lose.
Poca (potato chips)
It is actually potato chips made by famous snack brand Lay`s in Vietnam.
Ofcourse they are selling their Lay`s potato chips in Vietnam. But for the other snacks that they make in Vietnam, They are putting brand logo 'Poca' on.
So it is like Lay`s localization brand in Vietnam.
Poca`s potato chips is a little thicker than normal potato chips and it is a little more soft.
And it has a lot of falvor. BBQ, CHEESE, SHRIMP etc. So you would have various options to choose whatever you prefer.
I don`t remember the exact price for each pack, because this potato chips is one of the item among various snacks and food. But i think it is not that expensive. So don`t be afraid of putting this poca potato chips in your shopping cart.
CHOUCHOU (salted fired peanut)
I am not sure if i can call it a snack or not because it is actually made out of peanut itself.
But it is so delicious that i have to put it in this posting 'snakcs to bring home'.
CHOUCHOU is literally fried peanuts with sort of some different sauces.
So basically it is really nutty which is taste of peanut itself. And there are some extra taste according to which sauce they are fried with.
Actually It has various flavors but i will show you some representing and popular flavors.
Chilli : known well as it`s spicy taste, it really pairs well with some beers
Cheese : really nutty, childeren would like it
Coconut : attractive that it`s soft and smooth
Vanila : sweet taste of vanila would be spread in your mouth
Caramel : sweet falvor but it is different from Vanila
Coffee : seductive that it`s soft coffee flavor with peanut.
Price of CHOUCHOU is 3 u.s dollars for 200g give or take.
Condensed milk snack
You might be a little disappointed that how it looks like if you see the package of Condensed milk snack in Vietnam. Or you might not want to purcahse it because it`s package design is sort of untrustworthy.
But if you have it once, every concerns and worries will go away.
It is beyond delicious enough to make me regret that i purchased only one pack of condensed milk snack. I should have purchased at least 2 pack..
The trait of this snack is like a little cute fish. and it has creamy condensed milk filling in it. So if you bite it, the cream will spread in your mouth.
Taste of condensed milk is of course sweet overall. And it is really mild and soft. I think is is caused by condensed milk.
And price for this snack is also really affordable. it is only under 4 bucks for 500g. you can find this snack at night market or shopping mall lilke Lotte Mart.
Rice cracker (one one)
The most famous ingredient in Vietnam is of course rice. Vietnam is actually one of the largest country that produce rice in the world. And the quality of rice is really good.
So their rice is used in several food. And snack is one of them.
I think one one rice cracker has 2 falvors. one is Shirmp and the other is Barbeque.
Personally, Shrimp is much more better than Barbeque flavor.
On the whole, One One rice cracker is really savory and texture is really crunchy.
Price? it is only one dollar for a pack in which 30 small packets are individually wrapped.
So just one dollar, you have nothing to lose. then try this snack.
