One of best tonkatsu in Seoul
I believe that there are, not so may, but some people who will be hiking Yongmasan after they see my previous posting 'The way of getting to night view-spot in Yongmasan'
So i want to share one of my favorite restaurant near Yongma Waterfall Park so that you guys can stop by and get some food.
Kumhwa King tonkatsu
The place that i want to tell you is a cutlet place. And they are really famous for their huge size of cutlet and affordable price.
The name of restaurant is 'Kumhwa king tonkatsu'.
This restaurant is actually specialized in cutlet dishes. Although they have some other noodle food like mak-guksu and momil, what makes them really famous is of course cutlet dishes.
Menu
They have over 20 menus on their own.
But don`t be interrupted and just focus on tonkatsu menu like pork cutlet, king tonkatsu, chicken katsu, fish katsu or whatever that is.
I personally had cutlet combo and buckwheat cold noodle when i visited there.
And it was a pretty satisfying meal. As i told you earlier, they were serving a plenty of food. So me and my girlfriend left some of cutlet and noodle.
They were way too much for us to clear the dishes.
if you are a kind of person who eat like a bird, You should consider not to order cutlet combo. Normal cutlet menu will be still enough for you.
Taste
When i came in to the restaurant, there were already some foreign people were eating their cutlets. It was so impressive. fortunately they looked to be quite happy for their meal. And the only thing i can see is the empty plate after they left the restaurant.
Kumhwa King tonkatsu's cutlet is actually a little different from western style of cutlet.
The Thickness of pork is thinner but texture is soft way more than any other cutlets.
This tonkatsu is normally served with sauce poured on it.
The sauce is not only sweet and savory but also really creamy. So it goes really well with cutlets.
A lot of Korean food might be spicy for foreigners but this sauce is not spicy at all.
So i think almost all of people would love this style of cutlets with sauce.
Self bar & Self order
One of the most embarrassing thing when traveling is that we can`t communicate because of the difference of languages.
But it Kumhwa king tonkatsu, no need to worry about that.
They offer not only self order system but also self bar so that you don`t actually need to talk to any server in the restaurant.
Self order tablet is installed each table and they are giving english language option.
So if you don`t know a word of Korean, you can order cutlet combo there.
And also they are offering self bar for free. There are some soup and sort of side dishes like Kimchi. Feel free to use it.
