Ramen recommendation based on objective sales data and my personal preference
Are you a kind of person crazy for ramen?
Actually i am a really ramen-liking person to the point that i say ramen is my most loving and most-often finding food what if i am asked "what is your favorite food".
I try almost every instant ramen in Korea.
So today i want to share my some perspective or information about Korean instant ramen
Don`t get me wrong. The posting order doesn`t have something to do with ranking of Instant ramen. Please take it easy and just enjoy.
Yookgaejang cup noddle (small size)
This ramen is sort of memory-reminding taste for almost all of Korean men.
Since Korean men usually eat this ramen in their military service specially when training march.
With no any outside food allowed in their fist 4 to 8 weeks in military,
Yookgaejang cup noddle is given to them.
It taste like heaven for them.
Except for good memory of eating Yookgaejang in military service,
It taste good enough to keep finding this ramen after finishing their military service.
Personally i come up with this ramen after i drink a lot. because it is so good at hangover cure.
It taste like deep and tasty very high quality dish made by famous chief.
I don`t know why. But it taste really delicious.
And i believe that is the reason Korean military make their decision to give Yookgaejang cup noddle to Korean military recruit. I mean the taste is good. to the point that they can`t help choosing Yookgaejang ramen.
And here is one thing you should know.
It must be small size cup noodle when trying Yookgaejang ramen.
Yookgaejang cup noddle small size is the way to go. (right side on the below photo)
Shin ramyun original
Shin ramyun is the most famous and popular ramen in Korea.
Actually a lot of Restaurants or diners are using this instant ramen.
It is basically a little spicy.
And it`s base is mushroom and galric. So if you drink the soup of Shin ramyun you could feel sort of mushroom taste.
It was getting famous for their spicy taste when they first came out.
But now there tons of spicy ramen around world like Buldak.
So now their level of spicy is defintely moderate.
If you are kind of person who don`t like spicy food, Shin ramyun is fine.
And actually there are various version of Shin ramyun coming out.
But i think the other version of Shin rayun is not as great as Shin ramyun original.
Jin ramen
After Shin ramyun, following ramen what i want to recommend is Jin ramen.
Actually it has no specific differentiation that distinguish itself from the other instant ramens
But it is over all quite well-made ramen though.
It takes like aggregate which is made by using the strong part of the other instant ramens.
So it tastes more flavory, it`s soup is rich way more than the others.
Pluls, in recent years, it is predominant that Jin ramen is better than Shin ramen.
Lastly, one thing you have to be careful is that Jin ramen has it`s own a little sweet taste that make some group of people hate Jin ramen.
So if you are a sort of person who dislike sweet taste, you better not to try Jin ramen.
And it has two different taste hot and mild. So you are given two option.
Let`s just pick the one you like
Ansungtangmyun original
Aunsungtangmyun is the ramen that has it`s own distinctive taste.
It is made based on doenjang which is same as soybean paste.
So Ansungtangmyun is flavory more than any other Korean instant ramen.
And it is know as one-pick ramen of Kang ho dong who is famous Korean comedian, leader of 1night 2 stays.
He describes Ansungtangmyun as an white drawing paper since it pairs with any other ingredients such as eggs, cheese, green onion and oyster etc..
And cooking Ansungtangmyun with some of pork is also really delicious.
So if you stay at cooking-available places in Korea.
It could be a great choice to cook Ansungtangmyun with various ingredients.
