Vegan dishes in Culinary Wars
There are various kinds of dishes featured in Culinary Wars season1 and 2.
Among them, vegan dishes is definitely one of the most catching-eye category as more and more people are getting interested in healthy eating.
So i think it`s very helpful to list some of the vegetarian dishes featured in Culinary Wars. And i am also attaching some video tutorials from other Youtubers so that you can easily follow along and try making them yourselves.
Pine nut noodle
Pine nut, as a relatively expensive ingredient, is actually not widely used in many dishes. Basil pesto and Korean traditional alcohol Makgeolli made out of pine nut, that`s the only thing that come across my mind when i think of pine nut.
That`s why it was really enjoyable to watch 'Monk Seonjae' made pine nut noodles ; It actually taught me a new way to use pine nut.
Soy sauce Bibimbap
As Bibimbap is one of the most famous Korean dishes, i was thinking i knew it pretty well. But i was wrong!
The bibimbap from Monk Seon-jae is special in the point that it`s served with soy sauce instead of Gochujang.
For those who love bibimbap but are worried about the high sugar content in Gochujang, Soy sauce bibimbap can be the perfect alternative.
Another plus about this bibimbap is that you can make it in bulk, keep it in the fridge as meal prepping. And you can enjoy it whenever you want for about a week.
Carrot noodle
These carrot noodles might be polarizing since there are many people who don`t really like carrots. But if you are a carrot lover, you must try this recipe.
Just like above recipes, these carrot noodles are also super simple- maybe even easier than the others.
The only trick to this recipe is to fry the carrots well to get rid off It`s earthy flavor.
Tofu stew
If you not only love drinking alcohol but also follow a vegan diet, Tofu stew from Imo-kase is the perfect dish for you.
The savory and plain flavor of this stew would pair perfectly with Soju or other hard liquors.
Once you are halfway done with your tofu stew, try putting some rice in and mashing the remaining tofu, and mixing it all together.
Vegan Japchae with pine nut sauce
It was one of the most surprising moments in Culinary Wars 2 when Jweji Gomtang beat Monk Seon-jae with his vegan japchae with pine nut sauce.
Given that the main ingredient was pine nuts, who would have thought Dweji Gomatang -who specializes in pork- would beat Monk Seon-jae at her own game?
Just knowing that this vegan japchae took down Monk Seon-jae makes me really curious to see how it tastes. And it`s definitely worth making.
